Also known as Strelitzia, this artificial Bird of Paradise plant is named after its unique flower formation which resembles a bird in flight. Its scientific name commemorates the British queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. It has a stunningly coloured array of flowers offset by deep green large leaves.
