Manual Image Grid

You can try to arrange a grid of images manually in WordPress … but you’re probably not going to be happy about it.

In this lesson’s video, we’re trying to avoid using an HTML table in a post but still have a grid of images. As you’ll see, it’s not that easy–and there are other, better, simple, and more efficient options. The next few lessons will go over those other options, but I wanted to get this out there to show that, yes, it’s possible, but it’s not exactly optimal.

This is more of a lesson in, “This isn’t the best way to do this.”

Tips & Tricks

  • If you’d like a “grid” of images, you’ll want to align each of them “left”
  • Unless you resized each image proportionately beforehand, you’ll probably have to play with image sizing manually (with the percentage image resizer built into WP)
  • If you can’t seem to put your cursor where you want it, chances are that you’ll need to switch to Text editor mode

This is a bit of a “You shouldn’t do it this way.” option.
